Made of medium-density polyethylene plastic, the HMH Sked withstands high temperatures and is unbreakable as low as 120 degrees Fahrenheit below zero. Mass Casualty Incidents: The HMH Sked can be stored flat on pallets with the straps packaged separately, which allows quick movement of a large number of stretchers to an incident with a large number of patients, such as a plane crash or explosion. Pallets of 50 to 200 HMH stretchers can be moved by truck or airlifted by helicopter to facilitate the rapid movement of patients. Haz-Mat Incidents: Doing anything in Level A and B protective suits is difficult. The HMH Sked allows a patient or a downed rescuer to be quickly rolled onto the stretcher and pulled out of the hot zone by rescuers a rope length away. The Bariatric Sked Stretcher is designed to move obese patients through difficult areas with less risk of injuring your back. It is 4 feet wide, a full 12 inches wider than the standard Sked. It is a full 8 feet long. It is made of a very tough non absorbing polyethylene plastic.  This will allow for containment of the very large patients inside the stretcher thus preventing possible injuries to them from being moved. It functions just as the standard Sked. It is dragged over whatever terrain the patient is in. It can be dragged up a ramp to the floor of the ambulance or hoisted onto a bariatric gurney. It has a pair of lift slings that are long enough to accommodate nearly any size patient. They are used to hoist the patient onto a bariatric gurney for transport in the ambulance. The Traverse Restraint Strap is designed for use on all Traverse basket stretchers and Squadra Ski Patrol toboggans as well as backboards and other immobilization devices. Unique Patient Packaging and Extrication System combines backboard immobilization of a Short Board along with the suspension and support of a full body harness. The PAK System utilizes an integrated polyethylene board along the back of the harness system to reduce wear and allow for a smooth sliding surface for confined space operations.
